Christ Moravian Church

Church School

9:45 AM

Guests leaders from various classes are scheduled for short sessions on various phases of Christian teachings and Moravian history and theology. Our orchestra plays at this time for each hymn sung.

Sunday School

10:00 AM

Immediately following our Church School begins our Sunday School classes where dedicated teachers offer students of all ages the opportunity to study and learn more about the Scriptures and the Christian faith.  There are classes for all age groups; birth through adulthood. The classes are taught by various class members throughout the year and usually last anywhere from 30 to 45 minuets.

Fellowship

Fellowship is provided through the many organizations of the church. There are gatherings for youth, the Women's Fellowship, Senior Friends, and Girl Scouts. Talents can be used and expressed through the choirs for children and adults; the Church School orchestra; the church band; and other groups in the church. The worship, education, and fellowship opportunities prepares our members for service in the world.

Worship

10:55 AM

Our Sunday worship is neither formal nor informal. Our services may be classified as semi-liturgical, falling somewhere between the high liturgical practices and the free church practices of worship.

To enrich our worship, we use liturgies to observe the church year-Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Ascension, Pentecost, and Trinity. Special reading services are held during Lent while Holy Communion is celebrated in observance of the church year and festivals of the church. Lovefeasts are scheduled periodically during special times such as Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

Worship at Christ Moravian Church is enhanced by a pulpit-centered sanctuary. A large wooden cross above the pulpit holds a handcarved Moravian seal bearing the Latin inscription, "Our Lamb has conquered, let us follow Him." The surrounding wooden arch is topped with an embossed Moravian star. Stained glass windows on three sides of the sanctuary contain many of the symbols of the Christian Church. A pipe organ located in the rear balcony of the sanctuary accompanies the choir and congregational singing. A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers while Children's Church is held for young children.

The most important factor in our worship are the people who cherish the traditions of the church and who come together in love and unity in Christ, forming the congregation of Christ Moravian Church.

If you like what you have heard, and would be interested in joining in membership with us, we would be more than happy to welcome you into our family!
